**Major Duties**:

- Sourcing and purchasing of a variety of commodities in accordance with the Principles of Buying to achieve departmental goals and objectives.

**Specific Responsibilities**:

- Expedite Sub-Contracted components to ensure timely delivery to meet production schedule. Track, monitor, and maintain Purchase Order deliveries and liaise with Buyers / Project Procurement Leads to maintain schedule.
- Processes Purchasing documentation for outside processes (ex. Requisitions, Purchase Orders, reports) in accordance with ATS Policy and Procedures.
- Co-ordinates transportation of product to and from outside processors, and between ATS facilities.
- Communicates with and evaluates vendors to ascertain their ability to meet company requirements, goals, and objectives.
- Negotiates prices, credit terms, discounts, and delivery arrangements with suppliers.
- Reconciling invoices issues - pricing, quantity, and receipts
- Keeps informed of new sources of supply for materials and services.
- Performs on-going review of product, service, equipment, to identify new opportunities for cost savings.
- Effective use of historical and other bench marking data to ensure competitive pricing.
- Assist Senior Buyers, Buyers and Project Procurement Leads with special projects and/or tasks as required.
- Adhere to all ISO procedures and departmental policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS Code of Business Conduct.
- Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures

**Qualifications**:
**Education**:

- A post secondary diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management.

**Experience**:

- One to two years purchasing experience in a custom manufacturing environment. In particular working with outside contractors for machined parts.
- Sound working knowledge of Excel, Word and other MS Office software.
- JD Edwards ERP system knowledge is an asset.
- Theoretical and hands on knowledge of purchasing and material planning concepts.
- Proven organizational, negotiation, communication, and problem solving skills.
- Ability to interpret Engineering drawings is an asset.
- Excellent oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact in a team environment.
