We are currently seeking a Technical Writer to join our team.

The Technical Writer ensures that policies, guidelines, processes, and procedures (PGPP) on the PGPP Portal align with First West standards. When reviewing, editing, and creating PGPP content, the Technical Writer ensures the content is tailored to the intended audience to ensure First West employees have the tools required to provide members with an exceptional experience.

**Here’s what would be included as a part of your typical day**
- **Writing & Editing**:Reviews requests for new content and edits to existing content submitted to the Content Management inbox. Uses knowledge of the Canadian style guide to ensure PGPP content uses proper spelling and grammar. Ensures the content published on the PGPP Portal is clear and easy to understand so staff can complete tasks in a timely manner.
- **PGPP Standards**:Understands the current PGPP standards in place. Uses knowledge of the standards and the PGPP templates to ensure content quality is consistent on the PGPP Portal.
- **Review Cycle**:Reviews content for the annual review cycle to ensure existing content on the PGPP Portal is up to date. Confirms that content is accurate and PGPP standards are maintained.
- **Understanding Audience**:Determines the audience for all content published on the PGPP Portal. Understands the unique needs of the specific audience when producing content. Recognizes the audience’s knowledge level and day-to-day activities to tailor the content to their needs.
- **PGPP Migration**:Assists other departments with migrating their PGPP content from the Hub to the PGPP Portal. Ensures standards are met and Hub content is formatted to fit the PGPP Portal templates.

**Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications**
- High School Diploma required
- 2-year technical writing certificate or diploma preferred
- 2 years experience in technical writing or an equivalent combination of education and experience required
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skill
- Take responsibility for self-development and continuous learning to achieve required knowledge for the job
- Exceptional written communication skills, including advanced use of grammar and composition
- Proficiency with help authoring tools, and PC based tools including Word and Excel
- Displays an understanding of risk and risk ownership by being able to demonstrate adherence to policies and procedures.
