Our project site located in **Oakville, ON, **is looking for a dedicated, reliable and effective **Building Operator** to join the Technical Services team.

**Summary of the Role**:
Reporting to the Division Manager, the Building Operator will be responsible for monitoring, operating, and inspecting a 24-hour operational two story, 100,000 square foot building with respect to mechanical, electrical, BAS, security and life safety systems and equipment.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Operate all systems and equipment in accordance with design conditions and established procedures for safety, comfort, and economy whilst conforming to all applicable codes / regulations and client requirements.
- Inspect and monitor operation of all building systems and equipment, respond to trouble calls, investigate abnormal operation and environmental conditions, and take appropriate action(s).
- Perform such operating activities associated with the day-to-day operation of building systems covering mechanical, electrical, BAS, security and life safety systems and equipment.
- Checking, adjusting, and repairing leaking faucets and flushometers.
- Repairing washroom partitions, doors/hardware, and accessories.
- Replacing burnt-out lighting bulbs and tubes.
- Adjusting and lubricating door hinges, closers and hardware, weather-stripping, motorized door operators / controls.
- General housekeeping of equipment, mechanical, electrical, server, generator, and elevator equipment rooms.
- Miscellaneous tasks as directed: securing pictures, furniture relocations, window covering repairs, minor surface repairs and touch-up painting, shipping/receiving.
- Provide reports and recommendations to Facility Manager on operational activities within the building as requested.
- Coordinating work with contractors, outside service providers, and facility staff while obtaining estimates and/or quotes for proposed work in the building.
- Maintain inventories and request materials and supplies for maintenance activities.
- Conduct miscellaneous research relating to facilities, systems, codes, and regulations as required or requested.
- Provide after-hours on-call response should any building issues arise.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Key Requirements, Experience and Skills**:

- Previous experience and knowledge in facilities maintenance and operations; formal Building Environmental Systems (BES).
- Overall experience with a building's equipment and systems, such as: comfort HVAC equipment, precision environmental server room equipment, server room pre-action and suppression systems; BAS systems; UPS systems; back-up emergency generators; life safety systems / fire alarm panels; security systems; hydraulic elevators.
- Prior completion of general Health and Safety training (WHMIS, WAH, First Aid, etc.).
- Solid computer aptitude with experience using Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Strong people skills and willingness to take on diverse tasks, strong capability to multi-task.
- Clear and concise English language communication skills are key with the proven ability to effectively interact (both verbally and written) with clients, management, and staff providing a consistent level of customer service is required.
- Valid driver's license and vehicle.
