**The Position**

As a Maintenance Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting maintenance operations within our organization. Your role may involve performing routine repairs, inspections, and upkeep tasks to ensure the proper functioning and longevity of equipment and facilities. Under the supervision of maintenance staff, you will contribute to a safe and efficient working environment by addressing maintenance needs, keeping records of activities, and participating in collaborative efforts with the maintenance team. Your attention to detail, commitment to safety, and ability to assist with various maintenance tasks will play a crucial role in maintaining the reliability of our facilities and equipment.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Maintaining an up-to-date inventory of equipment. Taking inventory of maintenance supplies and notifying the Supervisor of low or depleted supplies.
- Completing minor repair work, which includes repairing doors, locks, door frames and handles as well as replacing light bulbs, sockets, switches, and window glass.
- Performing regular cleaning duties, which includes sweeping, dusting, mopping, and vacuuming.
- Ensuring office equipment is in good condition by testing and checking for defective components or parts.
- Inspecting control panels and electrical wiring to detect any issues that require immediate attention.
- Utilizing 5S pillars, Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain in work environment.
- Communicating with maintenance supervisor and technicians on the maintenance status of equipment and facilities.
- Complying with health and safety regulations and removing used and defective parts from maintenance shop.
- Promptly responding to requests for emergency repairs and clean-ups.
- Ensuring that all maintenance equipment is in good working order.

**Required Skills & Qualifications**
- Required to have a high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED).
- Proven general maintenance experience.
- The ability to safely operate hand and power tools as well as cleaning equipment.
- The ability to lift heavy objects.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in GMP area, minimum knowledge of food safety.
- Excellent computer skills; Microsoft Excel, word, and web-based CMMS platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team and desire to help others.
- Exceptional organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
- Exceptional interpersonal and people skills.
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality and privacy of the maintenance department.
- Excellent time management skills to complete a variety of tasks.
