The Walper Hotel is seeking an experienced, energetic, fun, passionate, and caring Public Areas Ambassador to be a valued member of the Hotel’s Team.

**Responsibilities**:

- Report to Public Areas Supervisor and/or designate
- Clean and maintain all events spaces, hallways, restrooms and public areas
- Clean and maintain restaurants and banquet rooms
- Keep exterior of hotel free from any debris & trash
- Vacuum carpets in the main lobby, second floor and on guest room floors
- Polish furniture and fixtures
- Vacuum and polish elevators
- Maintain the cleanliness of walls, rugs, carpets and upholstered furniture
- Move and arrange furniture as requested
- Dust, sweep, mop, scrub, wax and polish all areas
- Collect soiled linen from guest floors for laundering
- Remove trash collected by room attendants
- Provide friendly, courteous, and personalized service to guests
- Responding to guest requests, which could include deliveries, answering of room related questions, etc.
- Comply with Lost & Found Policy of the Hotel
- Maintain knowledge regarding hotel facilities, hours of operation of restaurants and function rooms
- Acknowledge that customer service is the most important differentiator and understand the significance of the role in creating loyal and happy guests
- Perform other duties as assigned

**Job Requirements**:

- A natural passion for cleanliness and excellent customer service
- Prior experience in a hotel setting (an asset)
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a consistent basis
- Must be a fast pace worker and work well with others
- Ability to multi-task
- Attentiveness and meticulousness
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong time management skills
- Must be able to communicate clearly, professionally and politely with guests and team members

**Working Conditions**:

- Shifts are scheduled within a seven-day period. A shift may be assigned at any of the following times: early morning, day and/or evening, weekends and holidays as determined by business requirements. On this basis flexibility and cooperation is required.
- Last minute changes in business volume: including additional business, last minute change in specifications, and or cancellations, may in turn result, in a shorter shift or extended shift, and/or additional shifts.

**Physical Effort**:

- Employees’ will stand, walk, and move around as circumstances, business levels and work load dictate.
- Employees will be required from time to time to lift, push or carry light equipment, resources or product of moderate weight. For example trays, carts, boxes, linens, bins etc.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

**Salary**: $16.00-$17.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Evening shift
- Morning shift
- Weekend availability

COVID-19 considerations:
All employees must be fully-vaccinated. Masks and rapid tests can be provided.
