Swing Person

This position is based in Steinbach, but travel to schools throughout the Division is required. Start date as soon as possible.

The person is responsible for a wide variety of duties in support of the Hanover School Division Maintenance Dept. This includes general duties to the upkeep of the HSD facilities.

This job description includes the major areas of responsibilities; duties may be added or deleted by the Director of Facilities as required. Hours of work are established by the Director of Facilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Operate automated sanitization equipmen
- Backup to Custodial staff as needed. This can also involve evening and weekend work
- Deliver school equipment, school supplies, etc. to schools as requested using the work order process or as directed by the Custodial/Warehouse Lead Person
- Lawn care when requested
- Pick up garbage at schools and deliver to the dump
- Assist in maintaining the Warehouse including cleaning
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

- Completion of secondary school or equivalent preferred
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License and use of own vehicle
- Direct work experience in a custodial or warehouse environment preferred
- Ability to maintain confidentiality is mandatory
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently in a time sensitive environment
- Strong customer service and attention to detail in all areas of work
- Flexible and able to quickly adapt to changing priorities
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
