**As a Career Counselor working in the** **Admissions department, you will be the first contact and present the first impression of the College to a prospective student.**

**You will be responsible for guiding prospective students through the admissions and registration process**

**You will generate student enrolment by managing leads and personally developing your pipeline by supporting, interviewing and registering qualified students to study at Maritime Business College.**

**Skills and Requirements**
- Energetic and sales driven
- Passion for customer service
- 1-2 years’ experience in successful sales and customer service
- Exceptional communications skills written and oral
- Post-Secondary a must
- Outstanding telephone skills and demeanor (Prior experience with high volume calls is an asset)
- Self-disciplined and the ability to work independently and with a team
- Working in a fast paced environment
- Excellent organizational skills, communication skills and attention to detail
- High standards of ethics and integrity

- Meticulous about keeping records

Salary $600 weekly while OJT for 6 months, $1000 weekly plus larger retention bonus, from 7th. month.

Annual Income expectation of $100k after successful 12 months.

**Job description**

We are looking for a Career Counsellor who will assist clients in selecting the career most appropriate to their needs. Moreover, as an employee of the Maritime Business College, you will work to exceed client expectations with highest level of service

The role begins as a Career Counselor trainee. MBC provides paid On Job Training (OJT) for Six (6) months. To be promoted to Career Counsellor & In order to be successful in this role, you will need to know the fundamentals of relationship building and client service.

You will need:

- Client service experience (Retail, Call center, Insurance, Real estate etc.).
- Enthusiastic personality, neat and professional in appearance.
- Strong interpersonal skills and client empathy, patience.
- Effective communication skills with ability to make sound decisions
- Ability to build rapport with clients
- A passion for client service, excited to motivate and inspire others,
- Naturally positive and caring individual with positive
- Can-do attitude, able to work independently
- Outgoing, motivated, self-starter always looking for ways to improve.
- Ability to work some evenings, if needed.
- Positively helpful attitude and who shows up with tons of enthusiasm

Must Have Qualifications for this Role:

- Minimum two years Client Service experience in any field.
- 2-4 years of Canadian post-secondary education.
