**Qualifications**:
- Experience in non-profit accounting within a multi-organizational setting supported by a business degree from a recognized college or university.
- Demonstrated leadership and ability to work independently.
- Ability to work under pressure, exhibiting tact, diplomacy, and positive public relations.
- Experience in computer systems with advanced knowledge of current accounting software.
- Good mental and physical health, exhibiting a high level of energy and enthusiasm.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
**Areas of Responsibility**:
- The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for all financial activities/transactions conducted for the entire organization.
- The Chief Financial Officer is a member of the Leamington Mennonite Home Management Team, providing home-wide direction, vision, and planning.
- The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for all financial documentation required by the Ministry of Health, Local Ontario Health Team, Retirement Home Regulation Authority, City of Windsor, and all related banking and financial institutions.
- Ensures teamwork, positive public relations and respect for all individuals occurs in all aspects of the position.
- Provision of excellent service to residents, visitors, co-workers, and physician, exhibiting courtesy, compassion, and respect.
- The Chief Financial Officer provides overall Leadership to LMH as part of the LMH senior management team.
**Functions**:
1. Completes/supervises all accounting functions including payroll.
2. Maintains and administers benefit systems.
3. Prepares monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts for all LMH entities.
4. Responsible for setting and implementing all internal financial audit systems.
5. Responsible for all information submitted to the auditors annually.
6. Meets and reviews information with residents and resident family members advising them of financial obligations upon admission and residency.
7. Prepares budgets for all entities of LMH.
8. Prepares all monthly financial reports for review by the Board of Management.
9. Prepares all Ministry of Health financial reporting.
10. Prepares all Retirement Home Regulations Authority financial reporting.
11. Compiles monthly resident Statements of Account, including monthly charges to be billed to the resident.
12. Remains current about any new information regarding funding and financial reporting to Ministry of Health, Ministry of Long-Term Care, City of Windsor, Retirement Home Regulation Authority.
13. Sets policies and procedures as they relate to all financial functions of the Leamington Mennonite Home.
14. Evaluates computer systems and current software and recommends purchases.
15. Maintains fundraising records/ charitable donation receipts and co-ordination of all financial records.
16. Interacts positively with residents, family members, volunteers, and LMH staff.
17. Interacts tactfully, courteously, and calmly with staff, residents, families, and visitors, while maintaining confidentiality.
18. Member of Leadership Team and Administrator’s designate (when required).
19. Always maintains positive public relations.
20. Attends annual meeting to present proposed budgets.
21. Attends monthly board meeting for monthly financial reporting.
22. Other duties as required for the Leamington Mennonite Home
