Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) CO-ORDINATOR

1.0 FTE - Permanent

Salary Range: $61,344 - $76,676 per year

The Simcoe

County District School Board is seeking qualified applicants for the position

of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) Co-ordinator working with our Special

Education Services Department. The ABA Co-ordinator is responsible for

providing support to school teams in the form of consultation, coaching and

modelling for the purpose of integrating the principles of ABA as outlined in

the Ministry of Education’s Policy and Program Memorandum (PPM) 140. The ABA Co-ordinator’s primary focus is to

support programs for students affected by Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), and

other related exceptionalities. The successful

incumbent will also be responsible for designing and providing professional

development to all school board personnel and enhancing the collaboration with

home teams and outside agencies.

Finally, the person is a member of the Connections for Students transition

team and works with school and board team members to facilitate seamless

transitions.

This position

will have a Board focus on supporting programs for students with Autism

the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis as outlined in the Ministry of

Education’s Policy and Program Memorandum (PPM) 140: individualization;
generalization of skills; data collection; use of reinforcement; and the

planning of transitions. The successful

Spectrum Disorders across grade levels, knowledge of community supports, and a

Qualifications and Skills

Required:
A postsecondary

degree in a related field;

Post-graduate

or equivalent field experience in autism and behaviour science;

Training

in applied behaviour analysis principles from a recognized institution;

Three

(3) to five (5) years related experience working with children and youth who

have special education needs; those who have ASD;

Knowledge

of the elementary and secondary education system in Ontario;

Experience

providing and/or facilitating adult learning or training, preferably in an educational

environment;

Excellent

interpersonal, organization, and coordinating skills;

Leadership

and coaching skills;

Reliable

transportation required;

The

nature of this position will require travel within an assigned district;
mileage reimbursement at the Board approved rate;

Board Certified Behaviour Analyst ® BCBA Certification may be eligible for

additional compensation.

Preference will

of ABA; experience providing support to educators across three divisions; and

evidence of on-going professional development in Ministry and Board special

education initiatives related to Special Education, Autism Spectrum Disorders,

and ABA. Experience should indicate

strengths in leadership, coaching, organizational, interpersonal, and

instructional skills. Applicants are

qualifications and include two (2) references.

The normal work period for this

position is the school year - ten (10) months and ten (10) days. The compensation

range for this position is $ 61,344 - $76,676 per year, depending on

future. This is a unionized position and union dues are

applicable.
