**Position Title**
- Continuing Studies Instructor, Generative AI for Art + Design - Summer Teens**Job Summary**
- The Continuing Studies Department at Emily Carr University of Art + Design is seeking experienced designers, design researchers, artists and educators to join our team of instructors.- We are specifically hiring for the Summer Institute for Teens, part of our Summer Teens program, which includes:
**Generative AI for Art + Design**: M-F 9:00am - 4:00pm, June 30 - July 25, 2025, on campus/in person
- This position is offered as a term-based contract for the duration of the scheduled courses at an hourly pay rate of $79.10/hr. We encourage individuals with creative practices prioritizing one or more of the following **art and** **design disciplines or techniques **to apply:
- Generative AI
- User experience and interaction design (UX/IxD)
- Graphic design
- Filmmaking and/or cinematography
- 2D and 3D design

**Required Qualifications**- Expert knowledge in generative AI, experience design, interaction design, graphic design, cinematography, filmmaking, and/or 2D and 3D design
- Significant knowledge of various generative AI design materials, tools, software and techniques, specifically: Midjourney and RunwayML

For our Youth + Teen Programs, we are also seeking those with:
- Experience working with youth + teens from diverse creative, cultural and educational backgrounds
- Experience using adaptive and inclusive student engagement methods
- Considerable knowledge of critique and feedback strategies
- Experience developing lesson plans and preparing content for online and/or on-campus learning.
- Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud preferred
- Secondary and/or Post-Secondary teaching experience preferred- Experience working with adult learners from diverse creative, cultural, and educational backgrounds.
- Significant knowledge of industry standards and practices, including client relations, contracts and collaborative projects.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Post-secondary teaching experience preferred
- Experience with online education (including Moodle and Zoom) an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and G-Suite an asset

**Preferred Qualifications**- Canadian citizenship or Permanent Residence status (at this time we are unable to hire international applicants for instructional contract roles)
- Significant experience working in industry, who are also interested in sharing their knowledge with others
- Experience working with learners from diverse creative, cultural, and educational backgrounds at the post-secondary level; prior experience with mentorship or training also considered an asset
- Experience developing lesson plans; prior experience developing internal training modules or leading workshops also considered an asset
- For those with little or no prior teaching experience, Continuing Studies offers support in the form of group workshops, standardized worksheets and individual meetings to assist in the process of course development and instruction.**About Emily Carr Continuing Studies**
