Maintenance/custodian

The Yorkton Tribal Council is seeking one (1) highly motivated individual for the position of Maintenance/Custodian (Full time and Casual). Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Maintenance/Custodian position is responsible for the general care and cleanliness of all YTC offices.

**Duties**:
General Care & Cleanliness of Assigned Areas including:

- Maintaining, following, and recording a cleaning checklist daily
- Vacuum, dust, sweep, and mop floors, hallways, and furniture
- Clean glass on doors and windows
- Wipe reception desk and counters
- Empty garbage and dispose of in recycle/garbage bins
- Wash, clean, and disinfect bathrooms including toilets and sinks
- Clean coffee pot and fridges when required
- Shampoo carpets when required
- Maintain Cleaning Supplies, inventory, and report to Facilities Manager
- Report required for repairs to the building to the Facilities Manager
- Secure building - lock all doors and windows, turn out lights, and set the security system
- Remove snow from the main entrances and other entrances
- Pick up garbage in the yards
- Clean up after staff events and meetings
- Follow COVID-19 regulations for Disinfecting and PPE
- Other duties as required from time to time

Qualifications:

- Must have knowledge of operating cleaning machinery and knowledge of the use of cleaning agents. Must possess WHMIS training or be willing to take the training.
- Must have knowledge of First Nation culture, traditions, and customs.
- Must travel between different YTC buildings within Yorkton on a daily basis
- At times, may be required to carry out assigned roles and responsibilities as relevant to operational requirements
- Valid driver’s license as well as maintain it throughout employment and reliable vehicle.
- Must provide a current criminal record check.

Physical Demands:

- Occasional weekend work or extended hours is required
- Must be physically fit as heavy lifting and manual labor performed

**Salary**: To Commensurate with qualifications. A combination of education, relevant training, and work experience will be considered.
