Clinical Psychologist

**Position Summary**:

We currently have an exciting opportunity for you to bring your excellent work ethic to our Specialized Services department.
- Within the context of a client and family-centered recovery model and in accordance with the College of Psychologists of British Columbia established standards of professional practice and the vision and values of the organization, position is in charge of psychological services provided to a section of the facility/program for the designated scope of practice area. Working independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team, completes psychological assessments, informing and supporting psychological treatment and evidence-based therapy, evaluates the effectiveness and appropriateness of treatment and facilitates education of clients. Maintains client records including the documentation of client diagnosis and most effective form of treatment and prepares progress notes and psychological reports. Liaises with external agencies and establishes and maintains effective working relationships with stakeholders. Attends clinical/case conferences. Provides formal and information consultations, participates in quality improvement and risk management activities, provides clinical teaching and supervision to Psychology Residents and students, and conducts and participates in research.
- **Shift Rotation/Hours of work**: Monday to Friday, Days - 08:30 to 16:30
- **University Hospital of Northern BC (UHNBC)** is the largest Acute Care facility within the Northern Health region, and a hub for specialized health services. It’s also a teaching hospital:
- Provides undergraduate physician training through the Northern Medical Program, run by the University of British Columbia and University of Northern British Columbia.
- Hosts residents in UBC’s Family Practice Residency Program
- Is a key clinical education site for nursing and many health sciences students at UNBC, the College of New Caledonia, BCIT and other institutions.

- Patient care addition with an expanded emergency room and updated ICU
- State-of-the-art maternal-child care centre (including a single room neonatal ICU)
- Facilities to accommodate undergraduate physician training
- MRI unit
**UHNBC** is also home to a cancer centre for Northern BC, featuring a wide range of cancer treatments including radiation therapy.
