A business unit of Kruger, Kruger Energy specializes in the development and management of green and renewable energy facilities (wind, hydroelectric, solar and biomass). Kruger Energy has an optimization center located in Montreal that plays a leading role in the supervision, operation, coordination and optimization of production at various sites. The intern will work within the optimization center team, in collaboration with the electrical engineer, the director of engineering and other departments. Their mandate is to support and optimize existing systems and to participate in the development and integration of new systems.

Kruger Energy is looking for an intern to join its Renewable Energy Production Optimization team. The intern will work within Kruger Energy's optimization center located in Montreal and will support the team in the coordination, operation and optimization of production at various production sites (assets include wind, hydro, solar, battery storage and cryptomining).

The intern reports to the electrical engineer in the engineering group.

**_RESPONSIBILITIES_**_ _

Generate and validate operating reports,
- Perform monthly analysis of wind farm performance and present it to the operations team,
- Participate in optimization center development projects,
- Support AMS systems,
- Design, modify and support GE Proficy Cimplicity HMIs,
- Troubleshoot and modify PLC programs,
- Analyze production data to evaluate equipment performance,
- Support the operations team on various projects and document the projects you are working on.
- Solve problems with the operation or performance of production sites and suggest/implement corrections,
- Preparation of documentation, manuals and scripts for operating processes,
- Study the optimization of the performance of production sites and suggest implementations.

**_ACADEMIC_**

Bachelor degree in industrial or electrical engineering and be available to start their internship in autumn 2023 for a period of 8 month

**_EXPERIENCE_**

3 and 4 years of university studies (preferably in industrial or electrical engineering)

**_SKILLS AND ABILITIES_**
- Knowledge of industrial computing (SCADA/HMI, OPC server, PLCs, RTU, SQL server), and communication network architecture,
- Programming experience (VBscript, HTML5 and.net),
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite software (Excel, Word, MS-Project),
- Knowledge of energy production systems (wind, hydroelectric, solar and battery storage),
- Knowledge of GE Proficy Cimplicity HMI and Historian products,

**_LANGUAGES_**
- Fluently bilingual in French and English, spoken and written.
