**COOK Full-Time (Temporary)**

The Cook is responsible for efficiently delivering food services in senior housing facilities. When scheduled to work weekends and/or statutory holidays, this role will also supervise staff and residents, ensuring the efficient delivery of housekeeping and food services related to their core duties.

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**:

- Knowledge of the Canada Food Guide and special diets (i.e. diabetics)
- Understanding of nutritional requirements of senior citizens
- A congenial personality who enjoys working with and for the elderly
- Ability to stay calm in emergencies
- Good communication skills
- Patience, time management skills, and the ability to work independently
- Ability to maintain a harmonious relationship with staff and public
- Must be physically fit and be able to bend, lift and climb
- Ability to carry out responsibilities listed in the Cook’s job description

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- Completion of High School Diploma or equivalent
- Bonafide cooking courses and cooking experience
- Supervision experience is an asset
- A combination of experience and qualifications will be considered
- Food Safe, WHMIS, First Aid, and CPR certification preferred
- Clear Criminal Record Check
- A genuine interest and empathy for the care of senior citizens

**Initial Location of Work**:Wild Rose Manor, Grande Prairie, AB (May be required to work at other sites)

**Initial Hours of Work**:7 am - 5:00 pm Shift schedule varies from Monday to Sunday (76 Hours per Pay Period)

**Pay Range & Benefits**:$26.43 to $31.07 per hour

**Start Date**:As Soon As Possible

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 3 months

Pay: $26.43-$31.07 per hour

Expected hours: 38 per week
