The YMCA of Oakville is the largest not-for-profit child care provider in Oakville. We offer high-quality Infant, Toddler, and Preschool Child Care programs for children ages 6 weeks to 3.8 years at 10 locations across the city. Additionally, we provide Before and After School programs for children ages 3.8 to 12 years at 40 of our locations in Oakville.

Early Childhood Educator

**Location**: YMCA Child Care Centers in Oakville
**Work Schedule**: Full time position, Monday to Friday, rotational shifts - must be available from 7:00 am - 6:00 pm (42.5 hours/week)
**Responsibilities**:
- Effective implementation of the nationally recognized YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum
- Create warm, welcoming environments and ensure the safety of children enrolled in the program through direct supervision, attendance protocols, and age-appropriate programming
- Ensures positive, professional communication with families on an ongoing basis
- Assist with children’s meals and snacks including set up and clean up
- Comply with the Child Care Early Years Act, YMCA Policies and YMCA Child Protection Policy
**Requirements**:
- College Diploma or University Degree in Early Childhood Education, and certified through the College of Early Childhood Educators (RECE)
- Experience working with toddler/ preschool children and families
- Passion for planning and facilitating high quality play-based experiences for children
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- A flexible, collaborative team player with a strong work ethic
- Commitment to working in a socially inclusive environment responding with sensitivity and personal awareness to the diverse needs of members including visible and non-visible dimensions of diversity
- Valid Standard First Aid with CPR C prior to first day of work
- Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening

**Location**: Various School Sites in Oakville
**Hours of work**: Part-Time position, Monday to Friday: 7:00am to 9:00am and/or 2:30pm to 6:00pm (Hours may vary, depending on school dismissal times)

- Tailor Learning Experiences: Implement the YMCA curriculum, skillfully customizing it to meet the diverse needs, interests, and talents of each child, ensuring they thrive in their learning journey
