Established in 1973, Holland Imports Inc. is among Canada's largest independent distributors of hard goods. Working with more than 2500 retailers, it develops, distributes, and markets products across a range of categories including Hardware and Power Tool Accessories, Lawn and Garden Tools, Patio Furniture and Outdoor Décor, Christmas, and Holiday Décor. We are a family-owned company known for its customer service, ability to source, entrepreneurial drive, and passion for the business.

We are seeking an Associate Category Manager (ACM) to join our energetic team. Reporting to the Senior Category Manager (Hardware/Hand Tools/Garden & PTA), and the Category Manager (Garden), the ACM is responsible to assist in all aspects of product selection, sourcing, purchasing and sales functions.

Duties of this position include (but are not limited to) the following:

- Assist the team with selection, review and buying of merchandise to drive sales.
- New product setups and maintaining inventory database to reflect accurate product information and pricing in both the inventory system and showroom.
- Create and place orders with domestic and overseas factories and manage the process from end to end.
- Manage product shipping marks from beginning (working with graphics team to develop) to end (review of final shipping marks from factories)
- Review buying plans, place purchase orders and manage inventory database.
- Assist with the development of planograms, catalogs, flyers, and product assembly manuals.
- Assist with marketing materials and sample selections for tradeshows.
- Prepare PowerPoint presentations for customers as needed.
- Maintain travel itineraries for the Category Management Team and act on behalf of them while they are away.
- Provide support to sales representatives and customers.
- Manage the shipments of all overseas samples with couriers and freight forwarders.
- Order product samples for showroom.
- Periodic resets of showroom, ensuring showroom is regularly maintained and updated throughout the year.
- Provide customer service to end users including shipping or replacement parts.
- Manage product life cycle from start to exit strategies for unproductive products.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum 2 years experience, with product knowledge in hardware, tools and accessories.
- Completion of related post secondary courses preferred.
- Available to work from the office Monday to Friday (this is not a remote opportunity).
- Analytical, highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and adapt to shifting priorities, within tight deadlines.
- Understanding of data analysis and forecasting methods.
- Excellent written and verbal skills in English, with the ability to develop marketing materials.
- Advanced computer skills, including MS Office, especially Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with FileMaker and Netsuite is an asset.
- Deadline driven; ability to work with little supervision.
- Ability to establish strong working relationships with factories, customers, and colleagues.
- Solid knowledge of category management, marketing, and sales principles.
- Be physically able to manage bulky samples for showroom and tradeshows.
- Desire to grow into a category manager role preferred.
- Loyal, flexible, and reliable. Prioritizes the goals of the team over individual interests.
- Some travel may be required.

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
