**What Are We Looking For?**

FortisAlberta is looking for a Project Planner is to work in partnership with Construction Planners and Regional Teams to expediate the construction of Regional projects. The Project Planner will facilitate the coordination and completion of Regional projects including defining scope, developing cost and schedule estimates, delivering quotes, virtual alignment planning and complete powerline and electrical facility designs.

The Project Planner will be responsible for determining the project scope, defining the customer requirements, developing the powerline alignment plans and the technical project designs using available software tools and systems. This role will provide the direction to all relevant stakeholders and effectively manage the changes to project scope, project schedule and project costs. The Project Planner will monitor and manage project performance and be responsible for developing recommendations by identifying areas of opportunity throughout the scope of the project and effectively communicating decisions to internal and external customers.

Day to day, the Project Planner will be responsible for making and communicating decisions on all aspects of a project to both internal and external customers as well as identifying and facilitating the solution of the project conflicts effectively to ensure that there is mínimal costs or disruption to operations. The Project Planner will recognize the risks and initiate actions to mitigate the risks that may be presented in throughout the scope of the project and will be responsible for quality project estimates, project pricing and customer quotes. Additionally, this role will have the responsibility of quality and completeness of the quote letter and information within the documentation supplied to customers. This role will define project material requirements and manage delivery dates to ensure accuracy and a timely delivery and will identify and manage land, environmental and brushing concerns and engage the appropriate Departments. This role will seek innovative ways to improve the project timelines.

The Project Planner will utilize survey crews to complete staking and acquire additional data in addition to providing technical expertise to customers on overhead and underground distribution systems in order to assess their requirements. The Project Planner will analyze customer facility connections to the power grid and identify distribution system requirements in addition to being responsible for technical feasibility of design and ensuring all appropriate standards, codes and engineering policies are applied to projects and technical desigs. As well as any other special projects or duties as assigned.
