Accounts Payable Technician

We are currently recruiting for the role of Accounts Payable Technician. Reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, this role supports ANC’s financial operations by handling accounts payable processes, assisting with cost reporting, and contributing to budgeting, forecasting, and monthly and annual reconciliation.
**Responsibilities & Duties**
- Execute accounts payable tasks, including invoice processing, general ledger data entry, and credit card reconciliations.
- Assist in streamlining and improving the accounts payable process.
- Demonstrate strong time management, detail orientation, and an understanding of basic finance, accounting, and bookkeeping principles.
- Prepare monthly cost reports, and month-end and year-end journal entries.
- Assist operational divisions with budgeting and forecasting.
- Perform financial analysis and support special projects as assigned.
- Support the optimization of financial transactions and systems, ensuring financial controls are in place and company policies are adhered to.
- Review and update accounting policies and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Regularly communicate and collaborate effectively with team members.
- Maintain integrity and confidentiality in all aspects of financial reporting and company information.
- Occasionally assist with payroll processing as a backup during vacation coverage.
- Perform other duties as required to support the accounting team and organizational goals.
**What you will bring to the role**:
- 2+ years post-secondary education in Accounting or Finance
- 1-2 years of working experience in Accounting or Finance
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Effective interpersonal skills, including English oral and written communication
- Intermediate skills in Excel
- Team-oriented
- Working knowledge of Internal Controls
