Lodge Receptionist

Meridian Housing Foundation has been providing safe, affordable housing to seniors for over 60 years. Our mission is to provide and manage independent, supportive and affordable housing for seniors.
The Receptionist is responsible for ensuring smooth and effective operations of the front office of our lodge - Whispering Waters Manor and Forest Ridge Place. This position provides a high standard of service to residents, visitors, and staff and provides administrative assistance to the Lodge team.
**Key Duties & Responsibilities**
- General Duties_
- Answers and routes incoming call promptly with a high level of customer service
- Maintains the front desk and reception area in an organized and processional manner
- Provides assistance to residents and visitors
- Point of contact for office equipment, resident work order requests, supports the nurse call system and lodge phone system
- Resident Services_
- Receives requests for guest meals, collects payment
- Communicates all resident issues and concerns to the Lodge Manager
- Administrative Assistance_
- Provides administrative support to the Lodge Manager, Supervisors and team members
- Manages the lodge communication book to maintain in good condition and ensures original forms and sufficient copies are available
- Supports the development of the Resident Newsletter and assist with other communications
- Maintains organizational standards for document control
- Assists with outbreak response following MHF guidelines and protocols
- Other Duties_
- Participates in various internal committees, meetings and initiatives
- Performs other relevant duties as assigned
- Safety Responsibilities_
- Keeps self and others healthy and safe according to AB OH&S Safety Act, Regulation and Code.
- Supports the Workplace Health & Safety Management System
- Ensures compliance to health and safety by being compliant to policies, goals, standards, practices, procedures, rules and legislation
- Proactively completes all required safety related training
**Abilities, Skills and Experience**
- Strong written and verbal communication skills: able to explain and write instructions clearly and effectively
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and strong customer service orientation
- Ability to constantly improve and learn
- Ability to work independently or on a team
- Deadline and detail-oriented and maintain productivity despite distractions
- Exceptional time management, organization and prioritization skills
- Adept at multitasking and balancing a varying workload with competing priorities
- Knowledgeable in general office procedures and practices
- Ability to work with and maintain confidentiality with sensitive information
- Desire to work with seniors
**Qualifications**
- Diploma or equivalent in Business Administration or Office Management, or
- A minimum of two years’ relevant experience working in an administrative and/or receptionist role
- Yardi experience is an asset
- A clear Police Information check
