**THE ROLE**:
This is a permanent full-time position reporting to our Director, Development.

**WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING**:

- Support collaboration between development and other departments. Work with internal and external team members, management, and product team to identify and understand business requirements and translate to functional and technical specifications, and provide technical solutions ranging from design through to code level.
- Promote best practice, defect-free programming, create and maintain quality code, provide support during testing cycles and post-production deployment, engage in peer code reviews, and enforce a standard.
- Provide work estimates/Story Point for issues, and ensure the issues are assigned to developers promptly.
- Monitor the development team’s progress each sprint and follow up to ensure they progress toward sprint completion goals. Provide status updates and ETA’s during sprint planning and daily scrum meetings.
- Document functional and technical requirements, acceptance criteria and results, prepare and verify builds for production release.
- Mentor other developers. Help developers resolve technical obstacles to prevent jeopardizing sprint commitments.
- Adhere to all source code management and release management best practices in accordance with company policy. Stay current on new technologies and best practices and share those learnings with the business.

**ABOUT YOU**:

- You are comfortable with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP/OOD), functional programming and working with N-Tier architectures, Microservice and Cloud environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and listening skills.
- Excellent business comprehension skills.
- Excellent organizational, troubleshooting, problem determination & resolution and analytical skills.
- Strong team player and individual contributor with the ability to build relationships across the organization.
- Process oriented in change and problem management disciplines and can work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to execute tasks with limited supervision
- You are very Customer, service and results oriented. You have a desire to lead, be accountable and take the initiative.

**EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Bachelor or Masters degree(s) in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
- Experience in an industry focused on solution selling, large enterprise software deployments and ongoing account engagement.
- Experience in agile development methodologies and with development operations tools including JIRA and GitLab. Ability to demonstrate advanced level expertise in the ReactJS, PHP, HTML, JavaScript, CSS/Bootstrap.
- Some experience with MS SQL, ODBC and integrating with APIs.
- Some experience with C/C++.NET.
- Knowledge of Linux based and Windows operating systems, command-line programming, and basic scripting (PowerShell and bash).Must be keen on design patterns.
- Understanding Test Driven Development (TDD) and the need to produce first-class software.
- Must be flexible to change and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Exposure working within the retail grocery industry and/or large enterprises would be an asset.
