General Labourer/operator

Edmonton, Canada CM Projects Inc Full time

Reporting to the site foreman1, the Labourer/Operator assumes responsibility for all general labour duties required on our winter projects. They will ensure work tasks are performed safely in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety Legislation and company policies and that work is performed with a high level of quality and timeliness.

**Working Conditions**
- Long shifts as required
- Overtime as required
- Working outdoors in different weather conditions
- Working in and around noise and dust
- Heavy lifting

**Responsibilities**
- Load and unload construction materials and move materials to work area.
- Safely move tarps and barricades for the heating and hoarding operations
- Load and unload construction equipment on work site
- Operate and care for construction equipment and machines. Performing daily maintenance.
- Keep work areas and equipment clean and safe.
- Follow instructions from crew lead hand.
- Work with other labourers to assist with workloads.
- General day to day labour duties.

**Qualifications**
- High school diploma
- 2 years’ experience as a general labourer in the construction industry
- skid steer experience would be considered an asset
- Class 5 Driver's License
- Clean driver's abstract is a must
- CSTS 2020 or WHIMS is mandatory
- General construction safety knowledge
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Committed dedication to safety; reflected in practice and experience
- Strong focus on customer satisfaction
- Smart phone with data for all safety documentation
- A team player with strong people skills

**Physical Requirements**
- Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 lbs. with assistance
- Stand or walk for long periods of time
- Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects
- Safety equipment will be required, 6” high ankle steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, reflective vest, weather appropriate clothing

**Compensation and Benefits**
- Compensation is commensurate with experience, quality and production capabilities and is above industry average.

**Salary**: $20.00-$30.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift
- Overtime
- Weekends as needed
