The University of British Columbia & BC Children’s Hospital are seeking a visionary Division Head to provide leadership for the clinical and academic services of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition.
The Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition is the only provider in the province of British Columbia, serving a total population base of 5 million. It provides a broad range of consultative services and inpatient care, including specialized clinical programs for Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Hepatology, Eosinophilic Esophagitis, Intestinal Failure and Complex Feeding and Nutrition. Outpatient liver transplant care is integrated within the Provincial Multi Organ Transplant Program. The Division currently has eleven clinical faculty members, one associate physician and one clinical associate, with ongoing recruitment for 3 additional faculty positions including this one. The Division has a Royal College accredited fellowship training program, with 4 active fellows. The Division is recognized for its basic science, translational and clinical research, and in addition to research by clinical faculty, the Division is home to three academic faculty. These highly productive research programs are focused on inflammatory bowel disease, the gut microbiome, nutrition, and host defense, and include microbiome profiling and intestinal organoid core research facilities.
