Cobourg, Canada Sterling Pools Ltd Full time

In 1959, Sterling Pools opened its doors to service all aspects of the pool & spa industry in the Peterborough area.

We are currently looking for outgoing energetic individuals to join our knowledgeable and driven retail sales team in our Cobourg location. The rate will be $17.00-$20/hour.

**Qualifications**

**Basic**:

- Demonstrates leadership tendencies
- Can actively problem solve
- Ability to resolve customer concerns in a diplomatic manner
- Ability to engage customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Capacity to communicate with customers effectively
- Ability to plan, organize and prioritize effectively and efficiently
- Can engage appropriately and work as part of a team
- Capacity to work independently and seek out assistance as required
- Punctuality and willingness to work some Saturdays as required
- Ability to lift 50lbs

**Note**:

- Prior experience in the pool and spa industry is considered an asset
- Prior sales experience is considered an asset
- Prior customer service experience is considered an asset
- Starting rate $17.00-$20/hour

**Duties for the position are as follows**:

- Maximizing sales opportunities by providing exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Educating potential buyers on both pools and spas and the services we provide
- Water testing and subsequent analysis and chemical selection for both spas and pools
- Assisting customers in sourcing various replacement parts for their systems
- Selling new equipment to customers (pumps, filters, heaters, salt systems, etc)
- Scheduling service appointments
- Utilizing POS software and processing cash, debit and credit transactions
- Refilling chlorine containers & safely carrying them to customers cars
- Receiving Purchase orders and ensuring all items are correct and counted for. Subsequently, putting inventory in correct area
- Doing physical inventory counts regularly and completing an inventory checklist, frequently updating order board
- Taking phone calls and checking messages frequently and providing sufficient follow up
- Maintaining company merchandising, including current pricing, signage, ad set-ups and displays.
- Operating scheduling & inventory computer software
- Conducting end of day till counts and paperwork
- Maintaining general cleanliness of all areas
- Providing coverage and assistance in all areas of the store where business needs require.
- Identifying and communicating suggestions for improvements in all areas of the business
