**Nasittuq provides Operation & Maintenance services for the North Warning System (NWS). The NWS is a joint Canada and United States early-warning radar system with 47 sites located in Northern Canada; a Control Centre and Support Centre located in North Bay, ON and a Contract Management Office located in Ottawa, ON.**
**Scope**:
Nasittuq Corporation is currently seeking a Warehouse Logistician who will be responsible to manage materials, packaging, inventory, shipping, and coordination of Department of Defense (DND) and Nasittuq assets.
**Please note: This is a full time, in person, Unionized role located at our Support Centre in North Bay, ON.**
**Responsibilities**:
- Perform inventory control (issue, receive, distribute, and dispose of inventory).
- Handle, package, and label materials for shipment.
- Determine method of shipment and arrange shipping using online tools. This includes management of international customs paperwork and international customs clearances.
- Operate material handling equipment and perform manual labour duties.
- Manage shelf life.
- Manage work order material reservations.
- Prepare and ship dangerous goods.
- Load and unload goods from trucks.
- Unpack, code and route goods to appropriate storage areas.
- Maintain general tidiness and warehouse organization.
- Assist in ongoing process improvement and change to increase efficiency and/or reduce the cost of operation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
**Required Skills / Knowledge**:
- Customer service training/skills.
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), as required.
- Ability to work under physically demanding conditions. Physical effort includes physically lifting equipment, material and working with tools. Must be comfortable in a physically demanding role including standing for long periods of time, repetitive tasks/movements, able to lift 25 lbs, occasionally lifting heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
**Qualifications**:
- High School diploma and 5 years of relevant job experience or a post secondary diploma and 2 years of relevant job experience.
- 2 years experience working in a high-volume inventory control, shipping/receiving, computerized warehouse or distribution facility.
- Experience shipping and handling dangerous goods by air/road/sea is considered an asset.
- Experience/knowledge of customs control points and processes is considered an asset.
- Experience handling Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) and associated control processes is considered an asset.
**Certifications**:
- Will be required to get certified for Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) by air/roads/sea.
- Will be required to get qualified to operate a forklift.
