Reporting to the Executive Director, the Photography Instructor is responsible for planning and teaching our weekly afterschool photography classes where students in grades 5+ (ages 10 and up) can build photography skills and techniques in keeping with the vision, philosophy, values and mission of Amber Academy Youth Fine Arts Society. Qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to:
**Qualifications**
- A natural artistic ability and love for working with digital photography to capture images that have a visual impact
- Self-directed and efficient with good communication and leadership skills
- Enjoy working with youth and able to establish rapport with teens and pre-teens of varying skills and abilities
- Enthusiastic about mentoring and empowering youth to become confident individuals and engaged members of the community
- Able to create and implement a program with clear goals and lesson plans

**Experience & Education**
- Must have significant experience in digital photography, photography equipment including editing software, and the technical aspects of shooting photos in different styles and settings

This is a contract, part-time term position beginning in September 2023 and terminating June 2024 with the option to renew. Regular classes will be Wednesdays from 3:30-5:00pm. Compensation will be based on previous experience, education, and training.

Part-time hours: 1.5 per week
