Facility Maintenance Technician

**Job Profile**:
ASB Greenworld Ltd has a unique Maintenance Position Available for our recently acquired manufacturing site in Metcalfe, Ontario (Ottawa Region). The successful applicant will be responsible and accountable for carrying out service and repair activities to existing buildings, equipment, furnishings, fixtures, pump systems electrical systems, mobile equipment and surrounding grounds to prepare for eventual production on the site. Once the site has approval to begin production the role will evolve to include maintaining mixing and packaging equipment to meet daily production requirements. Through the transition this position reports to the Chief Operations Officer.

**Job description**

**Principal Accountabilities: Phase 1**
- Liaise with the C.O.O, Project Managers and Company Directors on site maintenance requirements and equipment installations.
- Organize on site activities with third party contractors, engineers, and inspectors.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical systems including motors, umps, controls, scales, and other equipment.
- Troubleshooting all building issues, performing basic replacement or repairs as needed (e.g., repairing electrical or plumbing fixtures)
- Building and site repairs, installations, and monitoring.
- Inspect, repair, or install safety and security equipment and/or devices.
- Clean up activities and appearance Improvement.
- Executing general labour tasks within the facility as needed, such as hanging signs, moving of items, minor office repairs.

**Phase 2**
- Set up, operation and tear down of mixing and packaging equipment and palletizers as required.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical systems including motors, controls, scales, and other equipment.
- Troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs industrial and electronic control systems.
- Complete scheduled maintenance and inspection.
- Demonstrate good housekeeping and organization practices to help maintain a safe work area.
- Participate in monthly planning meetings.
- Participate with equipment installations and plans.

**Required**:

- Must have a valid driver’s licence.
- Must be legally entitled to work for ASB Greenworld Ltd. in Canada
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a maintenance technician in an industrial setting.
- Practical facility maintenance and/or grounds maintenance experience.
- A strong knowledge of preventative maintenance, mechanical/electrical systems, and quality control systems.
- Knowledge of and ability to operate all fire equipment.
- Must be able to perform physical job duties such as bending, lifting to 50 lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safety, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must be able to able to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Must be a self-starter and able to work without direct supervision.
- Previous Forklift and Other Mobile Equipment Experience.

**Preferred**:

- Recognized Millwright License.
- Ability to demonstrate high performance (work performance, attendance record, safety record, etc.)
- Experience in similar industry or processes.
- PLC experience
- Demonstrated skills in any or all of the following areas would be considered a strong asset: mechanical or electrical work and service, light carpentry, plumbing, painting and equipment maintenance.

Pay: $18.72-$32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 41.5 per week
