Catlin Inc. is a building and renovation company specializing in quality craftsmanship and the work we do is anything but basic. All our work is custom and designed by talented architects and our talented in-house designers and we are making a name for ourselves. What we’re looking for:
We are seeking a Junior Project Manager that takes pride in his or her work and enjoys working as part of a team. Residential Construction knowledge is a must, with a Certificate in Project Management considered an asset. If you are personable, well organized, client facing, able to solve problems and have a positive energy this may be the position for you A keen interest in architecture, high end products and performance building are critical. Our company is well organized (we even use project management software to help with that - how 21st century of us) and offers opportunities to develop and learn new skills. What we’re offering:

Depending on your skill level and experience we are offering $65,000 - $80,000 annually. Having your own vehicle and a valid driver’s licence is a must but no fear, we won’t be sending you to all over Southwestern Ontario as our work is conducted primarily in the Burlington and Oakville areas, with our shop location in Burlington. We will provide you with a vehicle allowance, fuel coverage and a cell phone allowance.

We offer an excellent benefit package and competitive wages. Our company shuts down at Christmas, on average one week to allow for staff to enjoy the holidays and we throw an alright holiday party to boot. You can also expect to take all major statutory holidays off as we shut down for those as well. Vacation will be included, offering two weeks to start.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist with pre-construction planning, coordinating and quoting (HVAC Design, floor systems, trusses and planning for bulkheads of services)
- Strive to meet budgeted targets per project
- Coordinate the timeline and ordering of long lead time items ie. Windows, exterior doors, siding etc.
- Weekly update of project scheduling & communication with all stakeholders on changes
- Inspection for quality/accuracy of all subcontractor work
- Procurement of all construction materials (lumber, windows, exterior products like siding, concrete etc.)
- Multi-site project management (2-3 active + assigned jobs in pipeline)
- Weekly update of project scheduling & communication with all stakeholders on changes
- Communicate with design department on updates and changes that could affect design etc. as the project is underway.
- Initiate site meetings/walk throughs per the standard site walks with the clients and any additional site meetings with subcontractors, architect, clients as needed
- Final handover/completion of project to homeowners

Qualifications:

- Understanding of building concepts and the Ontario Building Code
- Experience in Residential Construction an asset
- Capability to read and interpret construction drawings, design drawings and specifications
- Ability to participate and collaborate in project team settings and to engage in critical thought
- Interest in high performance building
- Capability to travel to the job site for site visits and inspections

Education & Experience:

- Project Management Certificate
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience with residential construction projects
