Tomlinson is Eastern Canada's leader in environmental, construction and transportation infrastructure services. Reporting to the Area Manager, the incumbent is responsible for the Management of all Operations within the Tomlinson Waste Recovery Center (TWRC) which includes a MRF, C&D Recovery Plant, Transfer Station and a Bin Repair Shop. The Site Supervisor will provide the Leadership, Operating Standards, Marketing of Materials, Cost Controls, and Pricing of Materials required for efficient receiving, processing and handling of all Recyclable Materials and Waste Streams while maintaining a safe work environment.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Employee management
- Hire and provide training to new employees
- Resolution of employee conflicts/issues
- Provide guidance and performance management to staff
- Administration of any employee vacation/absences
- Conduct scheduled “one on one” meetings and annual performance reviews with staff
- Ensure all company policies and procedures are being adhered to
- Responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of all buildings, grounds, roads, and equipment associated with the site.
- Plans, assigns, and supervises the work of assigned personnel and coordinates the operation of all transfer station, scale house, C&D sorting facility, container maintenance and delivery and trucking logistics for the site
- Ensures that the site is operating within all ECA’s
- Ensure the site is kept clean at all times and maintain great relations with our neighbors
- Conduct daily site inspections and address issues immediately
- Coordinate all activities with internal resources and outside contractors
- Conduct regular meetings with scale attendants, equipment operators and plant foreman
- Track and monitor established KPI’s and address productivity issues in a timely manner
- Respond and resolve any service issues in a prompt and courteous manner
- Ensure proper documentation is provided for maintenance operations for equipment
- Co-ordinate repairs and preventative maintenance schedules
- Provide management of ongoing projects, and co-ordination of sub trades
- Collaborate with sales teams to provide accurate pricing for processing costs
- Track quality control
- Provide a safe work environment
- Assist in creating forecasts, budgets and best operating practices
- Manage trial projects
- Participate in monthly JHSC meetings
- Hold scheduled weekly safety meetings with all staff

**WORKING CONDITIONS**
- Working in an office and outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to work outside normal business hours when required
- Ability to adapt/pivot in a fast-paced, fluid environment

**REQUIREMENTS**
- 5 plus years’ experience in a similar industry
- Exceptional people management, including large teams
- Ability to resolve issues as they arise
- Provide outstanding customer service
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Must have a valid drivers’ license
- Good understanding of heavy equipment, trucks and welding would be considered an asset
