**Job description**

A pharmacy assistant or pharmacy technician will assist pharmacists with their daily duties. They will have knowledge of how a pharmacy works and will assist with making it run smoothly and efficiently. A pharmacy assistant will answer telephone calls, manage the cash register and restock medications. By taking care of customers, the pharmacy assistant allows the pharmacist to concentrate on preparing medications and answering medical questions.

**Responsibilities**
- Assist in maintaining inventories of medication and prescription records of pharmaceutical products.
- Ensure the prescription records have accurate information and enter client information in the database.
- Create an oral compound solution, ointments and creams as per the pharmacist’s instructions.
- Bill insurance companies.

**Requirements**:

- Experience working in a pharmacy or medical environment
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent customer service, reliability, and communication
- Perform cashier functions and other procedures as assigned
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts
- Presentable business-casual appearance
- Adherence to confidentiality
- A clear Criminal Record Check required
- Must be willing to submit to a pre-employment drug test and future random drug testing.
- Please include two previous employer references with a resume
- Grade 12 education
- Pharmacy assistant diploma preferred or pharmacy setting experience
- Computer literacy

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $16.00-$19.00 per hour

Flexible Language Requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay
