The Grain Grader is responsible for grading Canola and Nexera seed deliveries, for testing Nexera quality using the Cognis grain tester and for general housekeeping and maintenance duties in the Grain Receiving department.

- Full knowledge of and compliance with Standard Operating Procedures in the Grain Receiving department.
- To present to the public a positive image of the company designed to convey friendliness, honesty, and integrity of business conduct, as well as maintaining a customer farmer focus.
- The receiving of raw seed by truck, weighing, grading and establishment of dockage in accordance with the policies of Bunge Canada
- Must be able to distinguish colours for accurate grading of samples
- The proper documentation of received raw seed on forms approved by the company and the retention of samples from each log of received raw seed as established by Bunge Canada.
- Must be able to perform accurately all computer related functions relating to the Bunge Canada grain accounting procedures as per grain accounting manual.
- Able to lift consistently up to 22.7 kg.
- Must be able to work from heights and in confined spaces.
- To undertake such housekeeping as is necessary to assure a clean, tidy and safe working environment for both the public and staff.
- Storage and Transfer of raw seed as required.
- Check and clean dust collecting systems to ensure they are working properly.
- Perform minor maintenance on equipment when time allows.
- Keep up to date on all inhouse and online training
- Perform any other related duties as required.

Team Responsibilities:

- Development of liaison with the Grain Department and production, designed to provide a communication base enabling the smooth and complete flow of information necessary to the efficient functioning of the overall plant process.
- Must communicate with the Supervisor and Prepress operator as to type (and location) of seed (whether heated or damaged) in the bins.
- Must be on time for each shift and stay over until replaced by the next operator when another operator is scheduled.
- Each operator must perform an equal share of clean up duties.

Skill/Experience Requirements:

- Grade 12 education or equivalent. Agricultural background is an asset.
- Good mechanical aptitude.
- Good computer/ keyboard skills.
- Able to lift consistently up to 22.7 kg.
- Must be able to work from heights and in confined spaces.
- Ability to communicate effectively both oral and written.
