M’akola Housing Society (MHS) is an Indigenous affordable housing provider committed to supporting vibrant, diverse communities in British Columbia. Ts-i-ts-uwatul Lelum is an Assisted Living facility where we provide recreation, meals, and a variety of services and supports to the Indigenous Elders, seniors, and people with disabilities residing in the facility.

**Position Summary**

**Required Knowledge and Skills**
- Knowledge of Canada Food Guide for Healthy Eating
- Understanding of Occupational Health and Safety standards
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Ability to work as part of a collaborative team
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong planning and time management skills
- Ability to take direction and follow procedures

**Qualifications**
- Minimum Grade 12 Diploma
- Post Secondary Culinary Certificate is preferred, Cook Red Seal Certification or equivalent is an asset
- Minimum 5 years kitchen experience in a high volume facility or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Experience working in and with the Indigenous Community would be an asset
- Courses required and paid for by M’akola:

- Food Safe Level ll
- Occupational First Aid Level l Certificate (updated every 3 years)
- WHMIS and MSDS Certificate
- Criminal Record Check
- Be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 before start date
