IAMGOLD Corporation - Val-d’Or Regional Office is looking for a student for a field geology assistant position starting in May 2024, for a 4-month contract. Work will be primarily based in the Chapais - Chibougamau sector of Quebec and will focus on upcoming exploration programs on the region’s projects.
- Provide geological field support to the exploration geology team and exploration programs in the field, in the core shack or other locations. Duties will include geological mapping, prospecting, and geochemical sampling.
- Provide support for the integration of geological data and compilation work for the Exploration department and geologists.
- Can be involved in all phases related to the field execution of mechanized stripping.
- Assist the Geologists in carrying out project work including reporting and organization of geological data.
- Prepare field equipment and maps in advance of the daily work is a requirement.

**Qualifications**:
**Qualifications**:

- The applicant must be registration in a geology or geological engineering program. For graduating students, they will have to register for the internship of the Ordre des géologues du Québec (OGQ) or engineers du Québec (OIQ) or equivalent for other provinces.
- Bilingual (French
- English)
- Possession of a valid Class 5 driver’s licence.
- Must have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, other geological software are assets.
- No working experience is required however summer student experience in mineral exploration is preferred.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills are required.
- Sense of urgency and focus.
- Good computer skills (Microsoft Office, GIS: ArcGIS, QGIS, Access and Mapinfo).
- Ability to work well in a team.
