A seventy-five (75) hour per pay period, Full-Time Permanent Maintenance Staff position is being offered in the Radiant Care Pleasant Manor Maintenance department. The start date of this position is to be determined.

**Qualifications**
Qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to,
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Minimum one year of responsible experience in building and mechanical equipment maintenance and repair; or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience
- Health and Safety Certification, an asset
- Good skill in the use of hand and power tools & comfortable with computerized requisition system
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence
**Eligibility and Selection Criteria**
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Performs a variety of routine maintenance, servicing and repair operations to maintain facilities, equipment, furnishings, fixtures, and grounds
- Monitors and performs preventative maintenance procedures on building and mechanical equipment, including repairs to heating, cooling units, plumbing and minor electrical work
- Performs general maintenance work, such as replacing fuses, repairing call bells, clearing drains, repairing beds, chairs, tables, painting, redecorating, replacing tiles etc.
- Responds to emergency maintenance requests
- Conducts regular maintenance rounds to ensure all life, safety and building and support systems are functioning properly
- Assists skilled trades with renovation/remodeling of buildings; repairs plaster and drywall; paints building structures, as required
- Maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures
- Performs outside custodial duties such as snow removal and salting/sanding, as required
- Performs outside ground maintenance, including mowing, trimming, weeding, aerating and fertilizing lawns, replaces plants as needed
- Maintains ground maintenance equipment, as required
- Obtains estimates for supplies, repair parts, orders parts, as required
- Following specific procedures, performs such tasks delivering supplies, removal of garbage
- When required, assists other departments with resident moves; moving furniture and equipment
- Maintains an orderly, clean, safe work area and ensures proper care, use and storage of tools, equipment, supplies
