Support weld lab functions as related to; weld procedure development, equipment functionality testing, in-house and on-site welding demonstrations, oversee or perform on-site welding per code requirements (if applicable), and providing product training.
**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Lead a team of orbital welding technicians and operators during field or shop activities.
- Provide weld development for customers as related to feasibility, proof or principal, or the generation of Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR)
- Perform functionality testing and repair on welding equipment.
- Learn and be familiarized with equipment as related to welding; weld heads, power supplies, portable milling equipment, etc.
- Maintain and organize weld lab to ensure cleanliness and ergonomic layout.
- Provide live welding demonstrations for existing or potential customers either in-house or on-site.
- Provide on-site welding services either under the company’s quality program or the customer’s quality program as required.
- Provide construction and planning teams with input on orbital welding process to reach our goal of flawless execution.

**REQUIRED SKILLS**
- Required 5+ years of pipe welding related experience.
- Required experience in supervisory role overseeing boiler, furnace, or piping repair or field construction.
- Preferred Red Seal in related trade; Welder, Pipefitter, Boilermaker, etc.
- Preferred Diploma in Welding Technology or Engineering Degree.

**GENERAL CONDITIONS**
- Weld lab based in Sherwood Park.
- Field work at multiple sites across Western Canada.
- Must be willing to stay in camp at remote locations.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
- Must be able to work in Canada without sponsorship.
