**Creating**a**Sense**of**Home**: We are home to 108 residents. At Windsor Elms Village there are three distinct neighbourhoods. Each neighbourhood has four houses of nine residents. With such a diverse group of residents, you will find each house has its own character. At WEV, we strive to create flexibility that mirrors life in the communities and homes our residents have known.

**Resident Support Assistants (RSAs) - Casual**

We are seeking Casual Resident Support Assistants to work in our home located in Falmouth, NS (just 40 minutes from Halifax). As an RSA you are responsible for ensuring a dining experience for residents that is filled with meaning, memory and relationships where food is served with pleasure and appeal to all of the senses. Secondly the RSA helps to create clean, sanitary and comfortable surroundings for all care partners so that the residents have a home they are proud to share with family and friends.

**Key functions of the role include the following**:

- Creating a dining atmosphere that is welcoming, relaxed and relationship driven, where everyone feels at home.
- Creating clean, sanitary and comfortable surroundings
- Working collaboratively with the care partner team to create a home where people are safe, respected and comfortable
- Keeping the residents' preferences and needs at the center of all your decisions, conversations and actions
- Supporting the rhythm of daily life under the guidance of the Nurse Care Partner on your team and in accordance with the preferences of the residents.
- Aligning your actions and decisions with the mission and vision of WEV and our philosophy of care, while role-modeling the guiding principles of WEV
- Helping people become well known in the neighbhourhood
- Being an advocate for people and showing what it means to genuinely care for others

**Requirements / Assets**:

- Well-developed interpersonal communication Ability to operate various equipment used for skills cleaning and preparing meals
- Food safety awareness Hospitality skills
- Knowledge of good body mechanics WHMIS
- Respect for all people Experience working in a long term care setting
