- **We are looking for a full-time Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to join our busy team**_
- **Responsibilities**:_
- Participate in internally driven safety initiatives as assigned; including but not limited to, legal compliance assessments, cost analyses, setting up administrative functions (training, maintenance, KPIs, etc.)
- Coordinate document and record flow and retention for safety related items
- Conduct Job Safety Analysis on new and existing processes
- Oversee contractor management for applicable locations, ensuring we have the proper current documentation and maintaining files
- Assist with incident reports/investigations as well as follow-ups on outstanding corrective actions
- Submitting WCB/WSIB claims on behalf of the employer and assisting in the return-to-work process
- Plan and lead emergency drills and tabletop exercises
- Assist in distribution and scheduled reviews of Emergency Response Plans
- Participate in Joint Health & Safety Meetings holding the position of the Management Co-Chair
- New Worker Online Orientation setup and management
- Ability to organize and conduct presentations and training sessions as required
- Coordinate and schedule external training for staff
- Local Travel between sites (upon request/approval from reporting Manager)
- Required to be “on call” for any health and/or safety related issues that occur outside working hours; this includes evenings and weekends
- Other duties as assigned by Management
- **Qualifications**_
- Diploma or Degree in H&S, Environmental or Health Sciences related field
- 1-2 Years’ experience in a manufacturing/production environment required
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- General knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards and legislation
- Experienced user of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Understanding of agricultural/chemical industry considered an asset
- Valid driver’s license
**Working Conditions**
- May be long periods of sitting or standing
- Will be required to work both in an office setting as well as out on the manufacturing facility floor
- Travel will be required between multiple Winnipeg sites
