**QA Technician**

The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for quality assurance and food safety initiatives throughout the facility with a focus on implementation and maintenance of the SQF System and CFIA regulations.

**Job brief**
- Conduct statistical analysis on select processes and report findings.
- Assist with problem solving - root cause analysis - corrective actions.
- Assist Production Supervisor/ Manager in setting up the production line.
- Assist Production Supervisor/ Manager in recording the production report.
- Maintain accurate documentation of quality inspection results.
- Ensure incoming materials are in compliance with required specifications.
- Ensure outgoing products are in compliance with required specifications.
- Ensure production personnel are following proper procedure for ongoing production checks.
- Assist with training and instruction for production operators in QA measuring procedures.
- Development and maintenance of quality procedures and work instructions
- Audit and maintenance of compliance to required quality management system standards.
- Provide management with detailed quality reports as required
- daily, weekly, monthly, etc.
- Perform environmental testing program as per standard procedures, lab schedules in food and non-food contact surfaces (ex: equipment, drains, floors, etc) and submit samples for laboratory analysis.
- Perform multi-tasking in both QA and production duties.
- Other duties as required by quality management.

**Qualifications**:

- Degree/Diploma in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field of study
- 4-5 years’ experience in a food production environment with at least 1 year of experience in a supervisory capacity.
- Excellent knowledge of HACCP, CFIA, GFSI system standards
- CFIA experience and SQFP Prefer
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and guidelines
- Shows initiative and able to work as part of a team with other departments and resolve differences effectively.
- Fast learner and work with mínimal supervision
- Plan, Schedule, and Adaptability
- Self Starter with ability to problem solve and find answers and solutions.
- Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects / tasks in a fast-paced production environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
- (Excel & Word are critical)
- Ability to communicate in English orally and in writing with coworkers, regulatory officials, management, and different levels of the organization.
- 30/70 break down for desk responsibilities vs on the floor (This is not a desk job)
