**Purpose and Scope**:
The purpose of this job is to design tooling to be used in the production facility. These tools will be used to manufacture parts according to drawings or to support other production processes.
**This position starts on May 1, 2023.**
**Responsibilities**:
- Designing tooling to support welding, machining, forming, assembly and material handling including: Welding jigs, Assembly fixtures, Wagons, KanBan carts/racks and Other fixtures
- Interact with Manufacturing Engineers regarding tooling related problems.
- Creating and issuing part drawings and bill of materials to the tool shop
- Obtain quotes for non-standard parts.
- Assist in troubleshooting jigs and fixtures during the tool build and prove out phases.
- Providing cost estimates of designed tools.
- Conduct and be involved in Risk Assessments.
- Look for Continuous Improvement in Tool Design.
- Other duties as assigned.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Enrolled in an engineering program at a Canadian university and eligible for participating in a coop term.
- Experience with Solid Edge (or similar CAD software) is an asset.
- Experience ANSYS stress analysis software is an asset.
- Must possess excellent presentation, organization, communication and logical problem-solving skills.
- Safety-conscious
- Team-oriented; good team player.
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
Work Location: One location
