The Project Coordinator, Indigenous Relations identify opportunities for Indigenous consultation activities (ie. Preparation, engagement, accommodation, decision and follow-up) and actively participates in negotiations for highway related projects. Highway projects are on Crown Land and require a determination of the impact on First Nations’ identified or potentially claimed or proven Indigenous interests. This position provides advice to Senior Analyst, Senior Manager, and/or Director on how to address First Nations concerns through accommodation. This position also supports reconciliation of highway right of way through reserve lands, which includes the delivery of reserve acquisition for highway projects and/or resolving outstanding tenure matters. This would involve resource budgeting, contract management, appraisal valuations, and surveys.

**Job Requirements**:

- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Indigenous Relations, geography, archaeology, anthropology, political science, public administration, forestry, natural resources, regional planning, law, business administration or related field, and *related experience; OR,
- A Diploma in geography, archaeology, anthropology, political science, public administration, forestry, natural resources, regional planning, law, business administration or related field, and 2 years of *related experience; OR,
- A certificate in geography, archaeology, anthropology, political science, public administration, forestry, natural resources, regional planning, law, business administration or related field, and 3 years of *related experience; OR, An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.- Related experience should include one or more of the following:

- Experience managing multiple projects and negotiations.
- Experience working with Indigenous communities.
- Experience conducting research and analysis related to land use, historical highway right of way, resource management, social or economic development issues.

Preference may be given to applicants with one or more of the following:

- Experience building and maintaining relationships with Indigenous communities.
- Operational experience with highway infrastructure.
- Experience with property acquisition, surveys, contract services, and tenure related negotiations.

Provisos:

- Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence.
