**Position**:Windsport Instructor
**Location**:Windsure Adventure Watersports at Jericho Beach, Vancouver BC
**Duration**:June 16th 2025 - September 2, 2025
**Hours**: Part Time 15-40 hours per week: Rotating Schedule, 9am-5pm
**Compensation**:$21/hour
**Application Deadline**: January 19th, 2025 for first round.

Established in 1977, Windsure is a family-run watersports business, located at beautiful Jericho Beach in West Point Grey, Vancouver. Today, we work to share our love of three quintessential Vancouver watersports: Windsurfing, Stand-Up Paddleboarding, and Skimboarding.

**What you’ll do**:
Some examples of the daily tasks of a Windsport Instructor
- Teach windsurfing/wingsurfing lessons including: preparation of equipment, basic wind geometry, dryland simulator, wetsuit & life jacket fitting, learning debrief, continued learning options
- Implement Discover Windsurfing I & II, Discover Wingsurfing, summer camp and special workshops class lesson plans/curriculum, tailor private lessons according to guest interest
- Teach and mentor other instructors, service staff on windsurfing skills and knowledge
- Implementation of windsurfing curriculum for all levels of windsurfing instruction.
- Possess knowledge of windsurfing/wingsurfing equipment and parts from all major brands.
**You’re a good fit if you**:
- Love being outside and active, especially on the water
- Are proficient in one or more of our watersports (the more, the better)
- Know how to create memorable customer and learning experience
- Have an understanding and/or curiosity of race, gender, BIPOC, LGBTQ2SIA+ and climate justice issues and are committed to creating safe community spaces
**What we’re looking for**:
- Knowledge and appreciation of windsurfing/wingsurfing
- Windsurfing/wingsurfing teaching experience
- Able to lift and carry minimum 50 lbs
- Fluent spoken English
- Pleasure Craft Operating Card (PCOC) or willingness to get it
- Valid First Aid Training
- Valid Criminal Record Check or willingness to get one
- Able to work in Canada
- Shortboard, racing, high wind, freestyle and foiling (teaching) experience are bonuses

Pay: From $21.00 per hour
