- The Bicycle Valet _provides free and secure bicycle/active transportation parking across Metro Vancouver.
- Seniors on the Move _is a seniors-led, systems-charge project that aims to increase transportation options for older adults and others who do not drive, which BEST co-manages with United Way B.C.

BEST has been partnering with Translink providing support in managing and promoting Translink’s sustainable transportation initiatives. Translink is the organization’s largest stakeholders.

Reports to: The Bicycle Valet Manager

Work Arrangement: Hybrid

Compensation: $23/h

Hours: 35 hours/week

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: This position is available as part of the Canada Summer Jobs program and offers short-term employment. The remuneration will comply with the program's guidelines. There is a potential for extension beyond the CSJ period.

**Job Summary**:
The Bike Valet Assistant Manager will hold a critical position within the Bicycle Valet Program, serving as the second-in-command to the Bicycle Valet Manager. This role entails providing essential support to the manager in overseeing the program's operations and administration. The Assistant Manager will play a vital role in maintaining the program's success, ensuring efficient service delivery, and leading the team effectively.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Program Management:_
- Collaborate closely with the Bicycle Valet Manager to manage all aspects of the Bicycle Valet Program.
- Assist in developing and implementing operational strategies to enhance service delivery and program efficiency.
- Assume responsibility for program operations in the absence of the Bicycle Valet Manager.
- Assigning staff shift schedule for events and seasonal bike valet locations.
- Developing and implementing staff training program.
- Team Leadership:_
- Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to the Bicycle Valet team members, including volunteers and staff.
- Coordinate team activities, delegate tasks, and ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Event Planning and Logistics Maintenance:

- Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of Bicycle Valet events, ensuring seamless operations.
- Oversee the deployment of the Bicycle Valet van and materials to each event.
- Provide on-site support during larger events to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Stakeholder and Client Engagement:_
- Attend meetings with stakeholders and clients to provide updates on program progress and achievements.
- Maintain regular communication channels with stakeholders and clients to address inquiries and provide timely updates.
- Act as a representative of the Bicycle Valet Program, fostering positive relationships with external partners.
- Reporting and Documentation:_
- Assist in maintaining accurate records and documentation for program-related activities, including attendance, post-event reports, van maintenance, and other operation-related matters.
- Generate reports and provide regular updates to the Bicycle Valet Manager, stakeholders, and clients.
- Contribute to the development of comprehensive reports summarizing program performance and key findings.
- Volunteer and Staff Coordination:_
- Coordinate volunteer and staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for events.
- Support staff communication, leadership, and training to enhance team performance.
- Foster a collaborative and cohesive team environment that promotes productivity and engagement.
- Administrative Support:_
- Provide administrative assistance to the Bicycle Valet Manager in planning and coordinating program activities.
- Assist with backend administrative tasks, such as record-keeping, data management, and correspondence.
- Respond to general inquiries about the program, delivering excellent customer service.
- Continuous Improvement:_
- Contribute to the identification and implementation of process improvements
