**Job Posting - Employment Consultant**

Applications are now being accepted for the position of Employment Consultant at the Niagara
Employment Help Centre, 7 - 6100 Thorold Stone Road, Niagara Falls, Ontario. The position is 40 hours per week, Full Time, Monday thru Friday. Additional hours may be required

**Summary**: Provides individualized and group career and employment services. The Employment
Consultant works within the Fedcap Group / MLITSD Employment Ontario Guidelines and Agency
Policies and Procedures to assist clients with meeting their employment goals

**Responsibilities**:
▪ Determine client eligibility for Employment Service Program
▪ Ensure all clients are provided with a thorough orientation to Employment Services and the

Resource area
▪ Work with clients to help them identify, clarify, and reach their education or work-related goals
▪ Conduct in depth interview with new clients to determine their needs, help them identify and clarify their work-related goals, identify next steps, and also develop appropriate Employment
Action Plans (EAP) when appropriate

▪ Maintain attendance documentation, program records and electronic files in a confidential manner

▪ Work with clients to develop tools for job search such as resumes and cover letters
▪ Maintain up-to-date participant records in the EOIS database, Fedcap Cares and in house CATS program
▪ Case conference with internal Employment Services staff to ensure each client’s needs are being met in each component of service
▪ Monitor client progress through conducting regular follow-up activities and soliciting client feedback
▪ Provide clients with current information regarding labour market trends and community services related to employment, job retention, mental health, newcomer services, ESL etc
▪ Refer clients to other suitable services in the community to meet client needs
▪ Use a solution-focused approach to monitor whether a client requires a different blend of services

**Qualifications**:
▪ Social Service Worker Diploma or equivalent with relevant experience in an employment program

▪ Experience facilitating employment workshops and counselling, Power of Possible
▪ Extensive knowledge of career assessments and job search techniques
▪ Knowledge of the current labour market and industry trends
▪ Strong knowledge of community agencies and resources
▪ Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
▪ Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

**Salary**: $45,000.00-$55,500.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
