Custodian/cleaner

Job brief

We are looking for a responsible **custodian **to maintain our facilities.

The internal appearance of a building reflects on the occupants. It is important for a custodian, or janitor, to be careful and thorough in working, cleaning and tidying the premises.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure spaces are prepared for the next day by taking out trash, tidying furniture and wiping and dusting surfaces
- Sweep and mop floors and vacuum carpets
- Wash and sanitize toilets, sinks and restock disposables (e.g. soap)
- Wipe mirrors and windows
- Maintaining front reception, office and factory lunch rooms, washrooms, and main offices.
- Perform maintenance and minor repairs (fixing door handles, blinds, minor leaks etc.)
- Notify supervisor of any maintenance or repair needs

Requirements and skills
- Proven experience as custodian, janitor or in a similar role
- Knowledge of use and maintenance of cleaning equipment
- Attention to detail and conscientiousness
- Very good physical condition and strength
- High school diploma is preferred but not required
- Sweep factory floor, take out garbage

**Experience**:

- Cleaning: 2 years (preferred)
- janitorial: 2 years (preferred)

**Language**:

- English (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Driving Licence (preferred)

Ability to Commute:

- Richmond, BC V6W 0A5 (preferred)

Work Location: In person
