**Finance Manager**

On the West Coast, we do things differently. In fact, we’re more than a TV station. We are multi-media content creators, with a wide reach across multiple platforms. We have the number one newscast and news website on Vancouver Island, and we create a wide range of diverse, local programs for West Coast audiences, the type we’d like to see ourselves.

Role Overview

We’re looking for an experienced Finance Manager. The Finance Manager is an integral part of the senior leadership team. You will help to guide strategic business decisions as well as have a hands-on role performing day-to-day financial duties.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership and Collaboration:

- A great team player, that demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills along with technical skills.
- Collaborate with department managers on budgeting, workforce planning, and financial analysis.
- Coordinate with Administration team on accounting related activities.

2. Financial Reporting and Compliance:

- Produce accurate financial reports, including monthly income and expense statements.
- Coordinate with external auditors in the preparation of annual financial statements.
- Ensure on-time delivery of all regulatory and corporate filings, including CRTC, GST, PST, Corporate income tax, NR-4, and Statistics Canada surveys.

3. Budget Management and Financial Analysis:

- Oversee budget preparation, management, and monitoring processes.
- Perform financial analysis and assist in the development of key financial strategies.
- Manage cash flow and liquidity to meet operational needs and financial obligations.

4. Accounting Operations:

- Manage daily accounting activities, including bank deposits, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Facilitate/coordinate debt collection efforts as needed.
- Support the acquisition of capital assets and ensure proper recording, amortization, and disposal.
- Manage shareholders activities such as share buy-in, repurchase and dividend payout.

**Qualifications**:

- University degree, diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience in Accounting, Finance, Business. CPA designation would be an asset.
- 7+ Years of progressive accounting experience
- 3 + Years of accounting leadership experience.
- CHEK Full-time employees are expected to participate in the employee share ownership program after one year of employment.
- Experienced using QuickBooks and intermediate skill in excel are preferred.

**Salary**: $89,000.00-$107,000.00 per year
