Country Grocer is looking for a positive, energetic, detail-oriented **Accounting Clerk** to join our accounting team. This position is full-time working from our **Royal Oak **administration office Monday-Friday. The right fit is someone who is confident, proactive. excited to work within a team and professional.

**What you will do**:
**Accounting**:

- Processing of Accounts Payable, ensuring invoices are authorized, mathematically correct, prices verified and purchases reconciled
- Issuing of payments and reconcile vendor statements
- Accounts payable data entry batch checking and review for errors and consistency amongst stores.
- Maintaining clearing accounts; following up on outstanding items.
- Processing of Accounts Receivable. Process invoices, issue monthly statements, record cash receipts and monitor outstanding debt.
- Accurate and timely processing of cash sheets. Reviewing, reconciling, adjusting and posting weekly cash sheets. Distribute final version.
- Producing and distribute the weekly management report.
- Verifying inventory counts, reconcile discrepancies, calculate gross profit and report results to department and store managers.
- Filing of the GST returns and PST returns, including knowledge and compliance of self assessment requirements.
- Reconciling bank accounts weekly.
- Fulfilling and maintaining proper record keeping and filing requirements.

**Administrative**:

- Greeting and assisting office visitors
- Opening and distributing incoming mail

**Experience and Education**:

- Post-secondary education in accounting preferred or equivalent work experience
- Grocery or retail experience would be considered a strong asset
