**Job Summary**:
The Structural Steel Estimator is responsible for developing accurate, competitive estimates for structural steel projects. This role involves a detailed analysis of project documents, comprehensive quantity takeoffs, and precise cost evaluations. The Estimator collaborates closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure estimates meet project objectives and budgets. Upon a successful bid, the Estimator will transition the project to the Project Management team and continue providing support throughout the project’s lifecycle. Estimators with Detailing skills will be considered and asset.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Estimate Preparation**:

- Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare detailed and accurate estimates.
- Perform quantity takeoffs for structural steel components and associated materials.
- Develop comprehensive cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor services, and overhead.

**Bid Management**:

- Prepare and submit bid proposals in accordance with client requirements and deadlines.
- Review and analyze bid documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and quotes.
- Update and maintain an ongoing bid list for stakeholder review.

**Cost Analysis and Budgeting**:

- Conduct cost analysis and benchmarking to ensure estimates are competitive and cost-effective.
- Assist in the development of project budgets and financial forecasts.
- Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.

**Collaboration and Communication**:

- Work closely with project managers (Internal & External), engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and constraints.
- Provide technical support and guidance to project teams during the pre-construction phase.
- Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to clarify project details and resolve any discrepancies.

**Market Research**:

- Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and material costs.
- Maintain a database of historical project costs and pricing information.
- Conduct research on new products, technologies, and construction methods to enhance estimating accuracy.

**Risk Management**:

- Identify and assess potential risks associated with project estimates.
- Develop strategies to mitigate identified risks and incorporate them into the estimating process.
- Ensure all estimates comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

**Detailing (Considered and Asset)**:

- Prepare Shop Drawings Create detailed drawings for steel fabrication, including beams, columns, and connections.
- Review architectural and engineering designs for alignment with project specs.
- Collaborate with Fabricators and Engineers and ensure designs are practical and meet standards.
- Ensure Code Compliance and verify that all detailing follows building codes and safety standards.
- Manage drawing revisions and update project teams as needed.

Pay: $65,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
