**About us**

The historic 2400 Motel’s geographical prominence at the point along Kingsway where a broad view of Vancouver is first seen, the Motel’s very longevity, and its singular appearance of being from another time, make the 2400 Motel one of the most recognized grouping of buildings in the city, giving the site a city-wide and even regional importance in the cultural landscape. Its neon sign, a carry-over from Vancouver’s days as one of the greatest centres of neon signage in the world, cements the iconic stature of the site.

**Job Summary**

The historic 2400 Motel on Kingsway in Vancouver is a Living Wage Employer and is looking for a full time Maintenance Helper / General Handyman with carpentry experience.

As a Maintenance Helper / General Handyman, you will be responsible to provide professional property repairs and maintenance as directed, including customer focused service to our guests, ensuring their stay will become a memorable experience. Your role will include key responsibilities such as:

- Provide regular, preventative, and restorative maintenance for all areas of the Motel;
- Proficiency with the safe handling of hand and power tools;
- Experience with a variety of core competencies, for example electrical, plumbing, heating, woodworking, flooring, painting, and landscaping;
- Provide regular, preventative, and restorative maintenance for all areas of the Motel;
- To provide excellent service in keeping with Motel standards;
- Ensure Hotel Policies and Procedures are followed to ensure department objectives are met;
- Maintain the privacy of all guests by ensuring that no details of the guests are disclosed;
- Demonstrate a complete understanding of the Motel’s policies, procedures and service standards and have full knowledge of the Motel facilities and happenings; and
- Maintain a safe and clean Motel experience for all staff and guests.

The shifts are as required and may include weekends.

**Required Education, Skills and Qualifications**

Maintenance Team Members must always present themselves and interact with guests and the Motel Team in a professional manner.

**Company Profile**

**Salary**: We are a proud Living Wage Employer, and the full time package will always meet this standard. Depending on experience, starting at $20.00/hour plus a $75 per pay period Transportation Subsidy.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
