**Job Description**:
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Reporting to the Manager, Prevention & Health Promotion and under the direction of the Prevention Team Leads, the Respirator Fit Tester performs N95 and elastomeric respirator fit testing for staff members at a variety of units/sites throughout Island Health using CSA-approved qualitative fit-testing methodologies. In addition to ensuring that employees receive appropriately fitting respirators, the Respirator Fit Tester provides education/training on the donning/doffing/usage/storage/etc. of this type of personal protective equipment.

Travel may be a requirement of this position. Transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of the Vancouver Island Health Authority in accordance with the service assignment and may require the use of a personal vehicle; and Valid BC Driver's License

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education, Training And Experience**:
Successfully completed first year post-secondary education (Sciences preferred), a minimum of 6 months related experience as a Fit Tester or a combination of relative experience and/or education.

Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook and in-house database systems (e.g. WHITE).

**Skills And Abilities**:

- Ability to work independently and in a variety of workplace locations and at various times (day/night);
- Ability to communicate with others effectively;
- Demonstrated sound judgment and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position.
