**Health and Safety Manager***

We are looking for a highly organized and experienced OH&S Coordinator who shares our passion for creating a safe and healthy environment for our students and staff. As the OH&S Coordinator, your role will be to develop, implement and monitor health and safety procedures to ensure compliance with the relevant regulations and standards.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop and maintain health and safety management systems in line with legal requirements and best practices.
- Reviews and assess risk management protocols; makes recommendations and implements modification and improvements for compliance to division insurance policies
- Develop new health, safety, and risk management processes and procedures where applicable
- Conduct regular health and safety inspections and audits in all schools and facilities within the division
- Identify, assess potential hazards and risks, and make recommendations for appropriate controls to eliminate or minimize risk
- Provide guidance and support to school administrators and staff on health and safety and risk management matters
- Deliver training and education programs on health and safety topics to staff and students
- Where appropriate, investigation incidents, near misses and hazardous conditions. Develop, implement and follow up on corrective actions.
- Support and maintain accurate health and safety records, including incident reporting and investigation.
- Liaise with external regulatory bodies, including Alberta Education, Alberta Health and Safety Association, OHS Officers, and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate division emergency response plan using the Hour Zero platform.
- Participates in Health and Safety Committee meetings and supports members in running effective committees.

**Requirements**:

- 3+ years of experience in OH&S, preferably in a school or educational setting
- Holds a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation or equivalent Occupational Health and Safety certification.
- Working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulation and related codes.
- Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with school administration, staff, maintenance department and external stakeholders
