Manager, Budget & Internal Reporting

Your Day to Day will include:
- Leading a team of four Business Analysts who work with our Operations and Technical teams to prepare capital and operating budgets, perform accruals, develop forecasts, complete variance analysis, and provide project controls support.- Directing and supervising staff in the coordination and preparation of the annual budget preparations and the monthly reporting and analysis for capital, operating costs, and general & administrative expenses (G&A).- Coordinating the annual budget processes for Capital, Operating Costs, G&A expense, and providing summaries to management team for the budget review and approval process.- Developing comprehensive monthly performance reports and monthly management review meeting materials. Includes summarizing Capital, Operating Costs, Energy costs, G&A results, updating variance analysis and commentary in collaboration with key stakeholders.- Supporting the preparation of monthly and quarterly internal performance analysis, including development of insights for key financial operating metrics and working capital analysis.- Ensuring accuracy and completeness of factor analysis capital and operations results and forecasts through discussion with stakeholders.- Maintaining and periodically validating appropriate capital, operating and G&A reporting structures used for internal reporting.- Proactively developing and maintaining effective relationships with asset leadership team and other stakeholders.- Managing succession and development plans for Budget & Internal Reporting team members.

What you will bring to MEG:
- University degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance required.- Professional designation such as CPA or CFA is an asset.- 10+ years’ experience working in progressively senior accounting and/or finance roles in the oil and gas industry,- Excellent analytical, project/time management and organizational skills are required.- Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate team members while managing competing priorities effectively in a changing environment and within defined timelines.- Strong interpersonal, networking, negotiation, and diplomacy skills.- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.- Superior MS Excel skills as well as advanced use of full MS office program suite.- Experience with enterprise accounting and budgeting software, such as Prophix, beneficial.
